Coast 2 Coast

A Liquid Future and the Coast 2 Coast project teamed up last weekend for 3 days of artistic collaboration. Emi and Nico from Coast 2 Coast kindly flew all the way over to the Mentawai Islands and to our Collaboration Centre in Mapadegat. They were armed with an arsenal of cameras and enough paint to keep our creative juices flowing. Through workshops and hands on lessons our students were given the opportunity to learn some new skills.

The Saturday began with a self expression session as we began to make the mural on the side wall of the Collaboration Centre. Students worked together and shared their paintings with each other, it was great to watch the images slowly unfold. Check out the photos for the amazing end product!

On Sunday the students were given the task of using photography to share what their community means to them. We focused on the sea, beach and the village. These photos were then collated and shared with the group, we definitely had some hidden talents who really shone. These photos will soon be shared with other coastal communities around the world by Emi and Nico and the team at Coast 2 Coast to help bring them closer.
