Surfboards to Morotai, Indonesia!

🌊 🫰 Big Thank You / Terimakasih to Varuna Surf for this incredible generosity donating 20 beautiful wooden surfboards 🏄‍♀️ 🏄‍♂️ to the local clubs we’ve set up in Morotai.  

The locals are super happy and we are very grateful for the support in helping the local surf community.  We ensure girls and marginalised groups have equal access to the boards.  

We hope to be attaching a new ocean temperature sensor to the boards soon to enable locals to collect data on their local surfing ecosystem complimented by devices to map and monitor the coral reef breaks here. 

Surfing is huge. It presents a huge opportunity to assist local communities and provide vital information to better understand and protect our oceans. 💙 🤝 🌊

Nicole is a retired ecopsycotherapist who, after 15 years, is consulting with expats who wish to move to France. She resides in Basque Country, where gastronomy and the quality of food are held in high regard.

Born and raised in Southern California, Nicole enjoys surfing, skateboarding, bouldering and gathering with others to talk solutions and action regarding the climate crisis.
