Chatting to Ike and Fitri in the lineup

After 3 months of learning to surf Ike, Fitri and Ima are paddling out at the main break, HTs, on small days.  These are some fearless girls!  Not only are they the first local girls ever to surf there, they are surfing one of the most fearsome waves in the Mentawai.  Rad.  I can only imagine how well they and other girls who follow in their footsteps will be surfing in few years.

I had a quick chat with them whilst they were out for an early evening session with lots of the local guys who were very supportive of them!  I was standing on the shallow reef upon which the waves break trying to film.  Hence the bad quality.  How awesome are these girls!!! Yew!!
